happily ever afters

This weekend Mr. Man and I went to a lovely Sunday night wedding.  It was the wedding of one of his parent’s college friends and was so much fun.  Since the bride and groom were older, I think in many ways the wedding was more thoughtful and sweet than other weddings I have attended.

This was most obvious during the toasts.  Evidently, with age comes a better ability to provide a quality toast for your friends.  The bride and groom also provided love quotes as favors to their guests.  They selected eighty of their favorite love quotes, wrote them on pieces of parchment and tied them with a pink ribbon.  The guests were encouraged to share their quotes with one another and think about them as they left the wedding.  I think if someone in their early 20’s tried to pull this off it might have been cheesy, but it turned out to be so much fun, as well as being rather thought provoking.

The quote I drew was, ‘Those who love deeply never grow old; they may die of old age, but they die young.” – Sir Arthur Pinero

J’s quote was, “The most beautiful view is the one I share with you.” -Author Unknown

I wish I could remember more of the quotes from the wedding that other guests received.  (Although weddings sometimes have the effect of lost memories here and there!)  Do you have a favorite quote about love?
